An investigation was made of permeation through 12%Ni alloy membranes which had various structures. The activation energy for D permeation through a martensitic structure at 600 to 800K was 18kcal/mol. The energies for H and D permeation through cold-worked material, at temperatures of between 800 and 900K, were 57 and 42kcal/mol, respectively. The equivalent values for permeation through an austenitic structure, at temperatures of between 800 and 1200K, were 30 and 32kcal/mol.
