The migration of 59Fe in alloys containing a few ppm of S was studied by using Gruzin’s method at between 1075 and 1200C in the case of bulk diffusion, and between 916 and 1050C in the case of grain boundary diffusion. The results (table 187) demonstrated that the presence of S led to a decrease in the grain boundary diffusivity of Fe.
