The temperature-dependent electrical conductivity and dielectric permittivity and room-temperature optical absorption spectra of Langasite crystals grown under various conditions were measured. The resistivity and peak-loss temperature of the crystals were shown to be determined by the concentration of O vacancies, which originated from changes in melt composition during crystal growth. The peak-loss of Langasite was shown, for the first time, to be anisotropic (for measurements on Z- and X-cuts).
