The interdiffusion coefficients in the face-centered cubic alpha-phase of the various alloys were determined at 1073K (tables 110 to 113). The concentration profiles indicated that the diffusion rate of Sn was greater than that of Zn. The diffusion paths exhibited typical S-shaped farms. It was found that the 4 interdiffusion coefficients were very sensitive to the solute concentration. The atomic mobilities of the 3 elements in Kirkendall planes increased in the order: Cu, Zn, Sn. The interaction energy of the Cu-Sn bond was much larger than that of the Zn-Sn bond. It appeared that the Onsager reciprocal relationship held for the alpha-phase of this system.
