The process of electrocrystallization of superconducting MgB2 film on Mg film was developed. It involved the deposition of c-axis oriented Mg films by vacuum evaporation, which were used as electrodes for the reduction of B and its subsequent electrocrystallization into MgB2 from a non-aqueous electrolytic bath. Electrochemical measurements such as linear sweep voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry were performed in order to study the nucleation and growth of MgB2 films. The films were then heat-treated to promote proper superconducting phase formation.
