The self-diffusion of 44Ti in α2/γ interphase boundaries was measured here for the first time. It was found that the diffusivity was consistent with the grain-boundary self-diffusivity in Al-rich α2-Ti3Al, and this was attributed to the atomistic structure of the α2/γ interfaces. The contribution which was made by the grain-boundary diffusion of Ti along γ/γ twin interfaces could not be clearly deduced from the present penetration profiles. This implied that this diffusion was much slower than Ti self-diffusion along α2 boundaries.
