Internal friction measurements were carried out, as a function of temperature, on annealed and electrolytically H-charged thin sheets of high-purity material. The vibration frequency ranged from 4.4 to 8.5Hz and the thickness was about 6.5μ. A Gorsky peak was observed near to 700K in H-doped samples. The diffusion coefficient, as deduced from the shape of the relaxation curves and from the shift in the peak with vibration frequency, was given by:
D (cm2/s) = 4 x 10-2 exp[-0.59(eV)/kT]
