Formation and evolution of the dislocation substructures in annealed and quenched Fe-0.6C-1Mn-2wt%Si steel with original structures of the pearlitic and martensitic types were examined thoroughly under high-cycle fatigue conditions using methods of transmission electron microscopy. The qualitative characteristics of a dislocation ensemble were determined and substructure gradients were revealed.
