The principle of the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique was introduced. The H diffusion behavior in AB5-type H storage alloys, MmNi3.75Co0.65Mn0.4Al0.2, was studied electrochemically using galvanostatic intermittent titration. The results showed that the H diffusion coefficient D in the alloys increased with increasing of depth-of-discharge at ambient temperatures. For alloys with 50% depth-of-discharge, the value of D increased with increasing temperature, an approximately linear relationship existed between ln[D] and the reciprocal of the absolute temperature. The activation energy for H diffusion was calculated to be about 21kJ/mol.
