A theory was presented describing dislocation motion in the presence of spontaneous transitions between glissile and sessile states. Different regimes of the dislocation motion were predicted and used to interpret the most prominent features of anomalous plastic deformation of materials. A procedure of thermal-activation analysis of experimental data of mechanical testing within the anomalous temperature range was reconsidered.
