It was recalled that a co-linear interaction arose between dislocations having the same Burgers vector, gliding in their slip and cross-slip planes. It was the strongest of all interactions between dislocations or slip systems. Its impact upon the mechanical properties of face-centered cubic single crystals with high-symmetry orientations was examined by using both dislocation dynamics simulations and continuum modelling.
