The energy of coincidence boundaries was investigated for rotations about the [00▪1] axis in wurtzite GaN. A boundary could have 2 types of interface; corresponding to the edge or diagonal of the unit cell of the coincidence site lattice. Their energy was shown to be a function of the structural units in the unit period, and to have only two minima, which were determined for edge boundaries in the range of 0 to 60°.
