The motion of a pair of edge dislocations in an elastic field of point defects was investigated taking into account the interaction of dislocations both with each other and with the phonon sub-system of the crystal. It was demonstrated that the retarding force was a non-monotonic function of the velocity of dislocation glide with two extrema displayed under certain conditions.
