The diffusion of Cu was investigated by using 67Cu. The diffusion properties were essentially determined by the diffusion of intrinsic defects in the crystal. The dopant had an interstitial fraction which was incorporated substitutionally when Cd vacancies were present. The unusual resultant diffusion profiles mapped out the distribution of intrinsic defects, and indicated chemical self-diffusion.
