Serial sectioning and radiotracer techniques were used to study the diffusion of 114In in single crystals of Hg0.8Cd0.2Te in the presence of an electric field. It was found that, in electric fields of 0.2 to 0.3V/cm, at 120 to 160C, the diffusivity on the cathode side was 5.0 x 10-10cm2/s while that on the anode side was 2.0 x 10-11cm2/s. In electric fields of 1 to 2V/cm, at 180 to 220C, the diffusivity on the cathode side was 3.0 x 10-9cm2/s while that on the anode side was 5.0 x 10-11cm2/s.
