The In A-center was here identified by using optically detected magnetic resonance techniques. The center consisted of a Cd vacancy which was paired with an In donor on the next-nearest Cd lattice-site. The defect had monoclinic symmetry, with gxx = 1.0, gyy = 2.23, and gzz = 0.35. The photoluminescence band which was related to this A-center had a zero phonon line at 1.45eV, so that the binding energy of the In A-center, a single acceptor, was equal to about 0.140eV.
