The O permeation properties of the mixed-conducting ceramics, SrFeCo0.5O3−δ and La0.2Sr0.8Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ, were studied by using thermogravimetric methods at 600 to 900C. The results showed that the O adsorption rate constants of all of the materials were larger than the O desorption-rate constants and that none of these constants were strongly dependent upon temperature within the temperature range studied. The O vacancy contents δ(N2) and δ(O2) in N and O, and their difference, played an important role in determining the temperature behavior of the O permeation flux.
