Anelastic relaxation experiments (2 to 30kHz) were performed on SrTiO3 ceramics subjected to reduction in H2 atmosphere to yield a balance between O-vacancy and (OH) defects. The resultant anelastic spectrum contained, in addition to well-known structural transformation near to 110K, several thermally activated relaxation processes between 200 and 700K. The 2 main elastic energy loss peaks were suggested to constitute the first measurements of the hopping-rate of O-vacancy and (OH) defects in pure SrTiO3.
