Electron-probe X-ray spectrum analysis techniques were used to study the diffusion zone between oxide couples with NiO. The latter were irradiated, in the interdiffusion direction, with 8MeV electrons at a flux density of 5 x 10-5A/cm2 at 1100C. The diffusion coefficients, as a function of concentration, ranged from 10-9 to 2 x 10-9cm2/s for Ni in NiO, and from 10-9 to 5 x 10-9cm2/s for Ni in Fe2O3. It was found that the coefficients for metal ion diffusion under irradiation were 2 to 3 times higher than the equivalent values in the absence of irradiation.
