The Mo tracer diffusion in Fe76Mo8Cu1B15 was studied by using the serial sectioning method at 548 to 648K. Sputtering with Ar+ ions was used as a sectioning technique. The measurements were carried out using ribbon-like samples in the as-quenched state and in 2 states after pre-annealing at 683 and 743K/h. The measured concentration profiles consisted of 2 distinct branches, suggesting that 2 diffusion paths were operative. Diffusion coefficients, calculated from the near-surface branch, were attributed to Mo volume diffusion in the amorphous phase. The higher ones were influenced by fast short-circuit diffusion.
