Neutron quasi-elastic scattering experiments of liquid Li (at 500 and 830K) and of a Li-H melt (99at%Li7 and 1at%H at 830K) were performed. The characteristics of the diffusion mobility for Li and H atoms were extracted from the experimental results and were analyzed using phenomenological and theoretical models. The self-diffusion coefficient in liquid Li at both temperatures was in agreement with published values. The mechanism of H diffusion mobility in liquid Li was considered, and it was concluded that H in the liquid Li existed and diffused in the form of the hydride, LiH.
