The permeation of H and D through Pd77Ag23 membrane was studied under stress conditions. The stresses were created by lattice expansion after introducing H or D, from the gaseous phase, into Pd–Ag membrane. At 303.2K, the flows of H and D in the stationary state were determined for Pd77Ag23 membranes with initial H and D contents of up to 0.1 (atomic ratio of H or D to metal) and for various boundary conditions.
