The kink mechanism of dislocation motion in materials with high Peierls-Nabarro barriers of the first and second type was studied. The form of the deviation of the temperature dependence of the kink-formation rate (from the Arrhenius law), caused by the effect of quantum tunnelling upon the formation and migration of kinks was analyzed.
