The interaction between an edge dislocation and a loop in body-centred cubic metals was evaluated. In these calculations, linear elastic theory was used to estimate their long-range interaction, and the change in the normal vector of the loop in the stress field originating from the edge dislocation was incorporated. The rotation of the loop significantly modified the interaction and strongly affected the microstructural evolution and the irradiation hardening.
