Screw dislocations near to a slanting edge crack in a semi-infinite isotropic medium, under remote mode-III loading, were investigated. Using the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation, the situation was mapped into the simpler case of a screw dislocation near to a free surface under an applied loading; for which the solution was known. The complex potential, stress field, stress intensity factor, dislocation image force, strain energy and dislocation emission criterion were derived and the effects of crack length and crack-angle parameter upon these mechanical parameters were studied.
