The elastic distortion which was introduced by a circular dislocation loop was obtained in terms of anisotropic elasticity by using numerical methods. The elastic distortions were calculated for both isotropic and anisotropic cases; depending upon the shape of the dislocation loops. The expression was applicable to the case of transversely isotropic, as well as fully isotropic, materials. It was found that, for both isotropic and anisotropic cases, the variations in the elastic distortions were the same as in the x-y plane in which the transverse isotropy existed. The elastic distortions were different in the z-direction. The elastic distortions depended upon the anisotropic properties and shape of the dislocations loop.
