A study was made of the electro-elastic coupling effects which resulted from the presence of a screw dislocation within an elliptical piezoelectric inhomogeneity that was embedded in an infinite piezoelectric matrix. The general solution to the problem was obtained via conformal mapping and Laurent series expansion of the corresponding complex potentials. Expressions for the field potentials and the field components were derived explicitly, for both the inhomogeneity and the surrounding matrix, by using a perturbation technique.
