A new method was introduced for the derivation of displacement fields having divergence-free stress tensors. On the basis of this method, an algorithm was presented for fitting the solutions to various boundary conditions. This algorithm was applied to a Volterra edge dislocation. The corresponding new displacement fields, and the related strain and stress tensors which corresponded to a crystal and a tubular cylinder, were calculated.
