The basic configurations of interfacial and joint defects which were introduced by non-elastic deformation of grains in a polycrystal were analyzed. It was shown that the defects introduced formed a 2-dimensional array of Somigliana dislocations (planar stress sources) which was stretched over the joint disclination skeleton.
