A quantum-mechanical treatment of the effects of dislocations upon planar de-channelling was presented. A simple harmonic model for a planar potential which was due to 2 planes that surrounded the channel, and the corresponding bound states in this transverse potential, were considered. The transition probabilities between these states, due to distortions in the planar channel, and the resultant de-channelling probabilities for varying distortions, were calculated. The energy dependence of these de-channelling probabilities was estimated for initially well-channelled particles.
