The kinetics of an Ostwald ripening were studied, where the prevailing mechanism of cluster growth was monomer diffusion along grain boundaries. The model self-consistently described the situation where the delivery of matter to a growing
cluster was achieved by monomer diffusion along grain boundaries. An analytical and numerical study was made of Ostwald ripening kinetics in an homogeneous supersaturated solution. The possible transition modes which arose during the Ostwald ripening process were considered with reference to changes in the predominant monomer delivery mechanism.
