A system of equations for the field theory of defects, augmented by a constitutive relationship for visco-elastic media, was used to study the mechanisms of propagation of plane waves of a defect field across the interface. Boundary conditions were specified for determining the defect field parameters at the interface which permitted the obtention of relationships for reflection and refraction coefficients and for the wave phase-shift at the interface.
