It was noted that it had been reported that sub-boundaries appeared to have difficulty in sliding. Three mechanisms were proposed here for the internal friction peak which was associated with sub-boundaries. These were diffusion creep, the glide and climb of jogged dislocations in sub-boundaries, and the interaction of sub-boundaries with dislocations. Calculations were made of the internal friction.
