A method was proposed for the treatment of interfacial misfit dislocation arrays according to the original Peierls-Nabarro ideas. A simple and exact analytical solution was derived within the extended Peierls-Nabarro model, and this solution reflected the core structure and the energy of misfit dislocations; which depended upon misfit and bond strength. It was also found that the structure of the interface could sometimes be represented by an array of singular Volterra dislocations.
