The use of high-resolution electron microscopy indicated that the edge-type dislocations which were observed in the low-angle boundaries of these decagonal quasicrystals dissociated into 2 partial dislocations. The projected Burgers vectors of these partial dislocations, on the plane normal to the 2-fold A2D axis, were b1 = [a1/2,a2,0,0,0,0] and b2 = [a1/2,-a2,0,0,0,0], respectively. The modulus of the total Burgers vector, b = [a1,0,0,0,0,0], was about 0.4nm. This corresponded to the periodicity along the 10-fold axis of the decagonal quasicrystal.
