Doubly-faulted ribbons of stacking faults on the same {111} plane were found in an L12 pseudobinary compound. They resulted from the interaction of coplanar <110> super-dislocations which gave rise to <112> dislocations. These subsequently dissociated into 3 identical ⅓<112> Shockley partials. It was shown that, provided that a larger core relaxation of the ⅓<112> partial dislocations was assumed, the threefold dissociated configuration had a lower energy than that of the antiphase-boundary dissociated configuration.
