The development of plastic instability in the initial deformation stages of irradiated materials was studied. The dependence of the fraction of dislocations which overcame obstacles in the dynamic regime (dislocation channelling), upon the degree of radiation-hardening (irradiation dose) and the dislocation velocity, was analyzed. It was shown that this effect played a role in the radiation embrittlement of reactor materials.
