Oxygen mobility in layered lanthanum cuprates, La2−xSrxCuO4−δ, was studied using a dynamic-thermal isotope exchange method and coulometric titration. Depending upon the temperature, various preferred surface-exchange reactions were realized. Characteristics of the bulk diffusion process, such as the activation energy and the diffusion coefficient were studied. Theoretical modelling of the diffusion process in the La2CuO4 and LaSrCuO3.5 phases was carried out using molecular dynamics simulations.
