Catalytic nano-clusters of platinum were deposited by high-density plasma sputtering into porous carbon gas diffusion layers for low-temperature fuel-cell electrodes. This plasma process led to the deposition of catalyst onto the surface of the substrate and assisted its diffusion in the carbon layer. The influence of the plasma parameters upon this platinum diffusion was considered.
