A technique was presented for the determination of the full 6-dimensional Burgers vector which characterized a dislocation in an icosahedral quasicrystal. It was based upon the lattice-fringe analysis of 2 high-resolution transmission electron microscopic images; obtained using 2 different sample orientations. An analysis was made of a dislocation in a bent icosahedral Al-Pd-Mn quasicrystal. A Burgers vector of B = A0[-2, 0, 3, -2, 3, 0] was obtained, where A0 (the 6-dimensional hyperlattice constant) was equal to 0.645nm. This result was consistent with previous results which had been obtained by means of diffraction contrast analysis and convergent-beam electron diffraction.
