Diffusion of gold nanoclusters on a graphite substrate was discussed. A solution to the contradiction between the extremely high value of the diffusion coefficient and its Arrhenius-type temperature dependence was proposed. The possibility of applying the Fermi acceleration model to this problem was shown.
