Two graphite intercalation compounds with titanium and vanadium fluorides were prepared in similar conditions and used as positives in lithium batteries. The lithium diffusion coefficient in the vanadium compound was found higher than the one in Ti. This result was discussed in terms of the grain surface composition and metal fluorides in-plane distribution.
