Interdiffusivities were determined from compositional variations measured across the Ni/Ni3Al diffusion-couple interface with an analytical electron microscope and an electron probe micro-analyser. The analytical electron microscope was used for measurements at lower temperatures and an electron probe micro-analyser was used at higher temperatures. The Boltzmann-Matano technique was applied to the determination of interdiffusivities in the Ni-rich disordered phase and those in the Ni3Al ordered phase. The interdiffusivities obtained here were compared with those reported in the literature, including self-diffusivities and impurity diffusivities. It was shown that the present interdiffusivities were consistent with those predicted by the modified Darken equation.
