A simple geometrical analysis of the diffraction patterns of Ga2O3-doped rutile showed that the (210) planar defects had a displacement vector of [½¼½] and not [0½0] as had previously been reported. A simple structural model for the boundary was deduced in which elements of the β-gallia structure were coherently intergrown with the rutile structure.
