The self-diffusion of 18O in Co1-xO was investigated, as a function of O partial pressure and temperature (table 50), by means of secondary ion mass spectrometry. It was found that the predominant defects in the O sub-lattice were doubly-charged O vacancies, VO", at low O partial pressures and singly-charged O interstitials, Oi', at high O partial pressures.
