Some 18O tracer experiments were carried out on 2 cubic yttria-stabilized zirconia single crystals at 423 or 473K. The diffusion profiles were determined by using secondary ion mass spectrometry. The diffusion coefficients, surface exchange coefficients and activation enthalpy were considered; together with earlier data for higher temperatures. The present O diffusion data demonstrated that the same diffusion process operated over a wide temperature range.
