The habit of crystals was dominated by (100) faces which exhibited pyramidal features and a strong tendency to form large terraces. As the current density was increased, the crystals departed from a cubic shape via the formation of dendritic growth along [111] directions. The critical current density for the growth of crystals of cubic shape was in the region of the theoretical estimate of 30mA/cm2.
