A study was made of the effect of an electric current upon the permeation of H through an Armco membrane (table 44). Two types of H transport were observed. One was transport through the crystal lattice, and the predominant route was along grain-boundaries. The activation energy for the former was greater than that for the latter. Electromigration was directed towards the cathode.
