A study was made of the effect of plastic deformation upon H permeation through carbonyl Fe membranes. In the case of non-deformed samples, the results were governed by an activation energy of 15.4kcal/mol at temperatures above 370C, and by an energy of 21.0kcal/mol at temperatures below 370C.
