The permeability, diffusivity and solubility of H in austenitic stainless steels were determined by analyzing the time and temperature dependences of the D flux through foil specimens. The results for the various steels were described by:

P (cm2/s atm½) = 6 x 10-3 exp[-14300/RT]

D (cm2/s) = 4.7 x 10-3 exp[-12900/RT]
